Make sure you plant them all before you head to bed on the night of the 13th to ensure you get as many strawberries as possible from them. They’re pricey, but you’ll get the best bang for your buck, AND the plants stick around after a harvest and produce even MORE strawberries. Save all your money for the Egg Festival on Spring 13, and buy as many seeds as you can afford. Remember earlier when I said not to purchase a ton of crops? That’s because the most profitable Spring crop isn’t available in the General Store.
You’ll need to open this area eventually if you want to get married, so it’s worth it to do so early on. It seems to fill up faster than the main area of the beach, too, so it’s a good source of cash in the early game. The bridge leads to a shore area that’s covered in shells and other sea forage items that you can sell for good money. It will take a few days to cut all the wood you need (rainy days are your friend, since you won’t waste stamina watering!) but take it at a steady pace and you’ll have plenty of wood from the trees on your farm and to the south. If you’ve been visiting the beach to the south of town, you’ve seen the broken bridge and balked at the 300 wood requirement to fix it. Why two? Because crows are wicked mean before you get the recipe for a Scarecrow. Buy two seeds of each early, and grow them solely for the Community Center. This also means you’ll want one of every spring crop: a Parsnip, a Cauliflower, a Green Bean, and a Potato. Then, take them out and donate them to the Community Center when the option arrives. So, a Dandelion, a Daffodil, a Parsnip, and so on. I recommend crafting a chest on the first day, and storing (among other things) one of every item you find or grow. If you’ve just been selling everything, you may be annoyed to find you suddenly have to go find a bunch of things you just got rid of the day before. Without going into too many details, you will eventually find you need to “donate” certain varieties of crop, foraged items, fish, and other things in order to complete the quest inside. There is an exception to that, though: One of everythingĪfter a few days, you’ll unlock the Community Center. It may be tempting to buy other seeds, and while you may want to get a second round of parsnips once your first has been sold, I recommend holding off on a big seed purchase until midway through the season, for a reason I’ll explain below. These Mixed Seeds will grow into a random crop or forage-able, and can help bump your profits up. You can also get tons of “Mixed Seeds” by using your scythe on weeds around your farm. You’ll immediately be gifted with parsnip seeds, which you should plant right away and tend for your first crop.
